DIY Chocolate Covered Crickets Kit Instructions

What You’ll Find in Your Kit:

• Roasted Crickets (already prepped and crunchy!)

• Chocolate Chips

• Topping you chose at the time of your order

• Real Ant Candy- This is to snack on while you’re busy in the kitchen.

• A bug-tastic cricket sticker to show off to your friends.

Step 1: Prepping Your Workspace

1. Find a clean surface to work on.

2. Line a tray with baking paper (this is where your chocolate-covered crickets will

rest).

3. Gather a couple of forks and a microwave-safe bowl or a small saucepan,

depending on how you’ll melt the chocolate.

Step 2: Melting Your Chocolate

Option 1: Microwave Method

1. Pour your chocolate chips into a microwave-safe bowl.

2. Microwave on medium power for 30-second bursts, stirring between each.

3. Repeat until smooth and fully melted. Be careful not to overcook the chocolate!Tip:

Stir, stir, stir to avoid a chocolate meltdown!

Option 2: Stovetop Method

1. Fill a small saucepan with about 2 cm of water.

2. Place a heatproof bowl on top of the saucepan, making sure the bowl doesn’t touch

the water (this is called a double boiler).

3. Heat gently over low heat, stirring frequently until the chocolate is melted and

smooth.Don't rush it, or you'll scorch your sweet chocolate!

Step 3: Flavour Your Chocolate!

Now the fun begins! Choose your toppings:

• Mix-ins: Add your chosen flavour (this is the chilli, cinnamon, or freeze-dried banana

powder that you chose when you placed your order) directly into the melted

chocolate and stir until well combined. If you chose sprinkles, we’ll add these later

on.

Step 4: Dip Your Crickets!

1. Grab a cricket with a fork (or your fingers, if you don’t mind getting chocolatey).

2. Dip it into the melted chocolate until fully coated.

3. Tap the fork gently on the edge of the bowl to let any extra chocolate drip off.

Step 5: Add Toppings!

• If you’ve got sprinkles, this is your time to shine! Quickly sprinkle them on top of

your freshly dipped crickets while the chocolate is still soft. Time to jazz up your

chirp-worthy treats!

Step 6: Let Them Set

1. Place your chocolate-covered crickets on the baking paper.

2. Let them rest for about 20–30 minutes, or pop them in the fridge for a quicker set.

Patience, chocolate-loving cricket wrangler! The wait is worth it.

Step 7: Store or Snack!

Once your crickets are fully set, you can:

• Store them in an airtight container, or reuse the resealable pouch that your

chocolate came in. Keep them crunchy and chocolatey until you’re ready to munch!

Enjoy your chocolate-covered cricket creations! Whether you like it spicy, sweet, or

somewhere in between, these tasty treats are a hoppy way to enjoy something a little

different.
